The Blockchain section of the BlockDAG UTXO Explorer offers real-time information on recent blocks, including transaction statistics, fees, and block sizes. Users can monitor the latest safe block and the total amount of burnt fees. The interface is intuitive, making it easy to navigate through the blockchain and integrate directly with the BlockDAG network through supported wallets.
Latest Safe Block: This number (1,181,117) represents the most recent block that has been fully confirmed and finalized. Blocks before this number are considered permanent and cannot be changed. In UTXO-based blockchains, transactions within these blocks are fully secure and spendable without risk of reversal.
Latest Block: This number (962,490) shows the most recently mined block. It may still be undergoing validation and is not yet finalized. Transactions in this block might need more confirmations before being fully secure.
Average Block Time: This metric (6.25 seconds) indicates how frequently new blocks are created. A lower block time means faster transaction confirmations, improving the user experience. However, faster blocks also require strong network synchronization to prevent issues like orphaned or conflicting blocks.
Block Details: Offers a real-time list of the latest blocks added to the UTXO- BlockDAG blockchain. Users can click on any block height to access detailed information about that block, including individual transactions and other block-specific data.
Block No. : Each block is assigned a unique number, showing its position in the blockchain. The highest block number represents the most recent block added to the network.
Hash: Each block has a unique cryptographic hash, such as 60767...25eef
. This ensures block integrity, meaning any small change in block data would create a completely different hash. Clicking on the hash usually provides detailed information about that block.
Age: The "Age" column shows how long ago a block was mined. In this screenshot, all blocks were mined 12 days ago, suggesting that the explorer is displaying historical blocks or that the network was inactive for some time.
Txn Count: Each block contains a certain number of transactions.
Nonce: The nonce is a number miners generate to solve the cryptographic puzzle required to mine a block. In this case, nonce values vary across blocks (e.g., 7,765, 138,210, 1,395,663), showing that different amounts of work were needed to mine each block.
Total Sent: The total amount of BDAG sent in each block is 0 BDAG, meaning no user transactions occurred and only mining rewards were issued.
Block Size: The size of the block in bytes.
Total Fee: The total fee is also 0 BDAG, indicating that no transaction fees were collected in these blocks.
Detailed view arrow: If the user clicks on the detailed view arrow, they'll be redirected to the block detailed page of that specific block.
